Welcome TXDLA pre-conference workshop participants! To set up your FREE Second Life Account - be prepared to spend about 2 hours creating your avatar and going through the orientation island: Go to the Second Life website Click on the "Get Started" banner in the upper right hand corner Create your avatar NOTE: At some point, you will be asked if you want a premium membership with a credit card - look for the way to skip past this as you are NOT required to have a paid membership You will be directed to download and install the Second Life software on your computer; be sure to check the system requirements When you login, you will start on Orientation Island - complete the exercises on orientation island to be prepared to move through class Email your Second Life avatar name to virginiadickenson@yahoo.com.
